Production of Captain Marvel is moving to New Orleans at the end of June. It was reported back in November that the upcoming film may shoot in Louisiana. The move to New Orleans is adding to fan speculation that Still Star-Crossed actress Lashana Lynch will play Monica Rambeau, the first female superhero to take the “Captain Marvel” name. Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Air Force pilot Carol Danvers....

Another new Deadpool 2 poster has been released just in time for the holiday weekend. Given the runaway success of the first film, there was never any doubt that the sequel to Deadpool would do well at the box office. But with the movie jumping from the relatively quiet February release window of the original to the crowded beginning of blockbuster season, Deadpool 2 is tracking below the first film. Fans will head out in droves to see the film regardless, but with so much competition surrounding it things might not go as well this year for the Merc with the Mouth....

The Apple original limited series ‘Defending Jacob’ starring Chris Evans, has been released on Blu-ray and DVD this week. This makes it the first Apple TV+ original title to get a physical media disc release. Defending Jacob debuted on Apple’s streaming service in April 2020, more than a year ago. Released a month into worldwide lockdown, Defending Jacob is believed to have been a hit for Apple TV+ with audience demand rivalling the original set of launch shows....

Big Little Lies is hinting at a dark secret in Mary Louise Wright (Meryl Streep)’s past, which is connected to the actions of her son, Perry (Alexander Skarsgård), and also the death of her other child, Raymond. The House of Ideas has carefully staggered their trailer releases, with Captain Marvel getting her chance to shine ahead of the impending Avengers 4 trailer. This is essentially an origin story for Marvel’s latest superhero - albeit one handled very differently to the traditional origins. In this case, it looks as though the movie will see Carol discover her own backstory, with the viewers working it out in-step with the cosmic hero....

The original movie told the story of a small-time boxer given a chance to fight the world champion, and proving to himself he could go the distance. Star Sylvester Stallone was heavily involved with the creative path of the series, having written and directed most of the sequels....

It appears as if The CW have given up on the idea of a Supernatural spinoff TV show judging by comments from the network’s president, Mark Pedowitz. With season 14 due later this year, Supernatural has proved itself to be one of the most enduring and popular fantasy-based television properties ever created, with a loyal legion of fans across the world rabidly following the adventures of Sam and Dean Winchester. Given Supernatural’s long and successful on-screen tenure, it’s no surprise that The CW have made several attempts to launch a spinoff series, albeit never with success....

X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be the 4th outing featuring the cast of First Class and it’s time for at least one of the major characters to die. It might be hard to remember now, but the franchise was in rough shape when X-Men: First Class arrived in 2011. SPOILERS for Deadpool 2 ahead. - Deadpool 2 writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have revealed how the sequel’s mid-credits scene came together. The first Deadpool movie included a memorable post-credits scene that riffed on Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’s famous coda and confirmed that Cable would be making his big screen debut in the followup. In an effort to top that, Deadpool 2 features a mid-credits sequence where Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) uses Cable’s newly repaired time-travel tech to go back in time and “fix” some issues with his own cinematic timeline....
