A fan-made poster for Marvel Studios’ Blade imagines what actor Mahershala Ali could look like as the vampire hunting daywalker. The film was initially revealed alongside Marvel’s Phase 4 films as a surprise at SDCC. Ali came out on stage at the end of Marvel Studios’ panel in Hall H and placed a hat on his head revealing the film as well as his role as the main character. The actor is already well-versed in Marvel films as he played Uncle Aaron in Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as well as Cornell Stokes in the MCU Netflix series Luke Cage....

The last day or so has been quite the emotional roller coaster for fans of the ensemble cop comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine. News broke yesterday that the show wouldn’t be returning after the season 5 finale, and things actually seemed to get worse from there. However, it seems that this particular story will have a happy ending after all, as NBC has picked up the show with a 13-episode season 6 order....

The first trailer for Bumblebee, the upcoming Transformers spinoff directed by Travis Knight, has answered several key questions about the movie. It gives a sense of the film’s tone and style, an idea of some of the conflict that will be explored by the plot, and a strong sense of just where this fits in the Transformers timeline. Transformers: The Last Knight revealed that Bumblebee had been active on Earth for a lot longer than we first thought....

Although it doesn’t give much, we know that the bank will provide access to Apple’s own payment system with debit and credit cards. Season 3 of Crashing is just around the corner, and it looks set to take series star Pete Holmes into a very different storyline. Playing a fictionalized version of himself, Holmes has had to endure quite a lot of punishment from his peers in the comedy business over the past few seasons. Even though it’s his own show, Holmes, along with producer Judd Apatow, has approached the series with very little in the way of vanity, putting the onscreen version of himself through the ringer, and repeatedly enduring the well-timed barbs of his would-be contemporaries in the New York stand up scene....

The Champions are essentially Marvel’s version of the Teen Titans; a young superhero team, many of them “Legacy Heroes,” who are dedicated to making a difference on the world. The Dark Tower has released three new TV spots for the upcoming film. Stephen King first began writing stories about a gunslinger named Roland when he was still in college. He eventually published five short stories in the late ’70s and early ’80s. In 1982 those five stories were combined into a single book – The Gunslinger. Over the next 30 years he published 7 more books in the series, creating a vast landscape and epic adventure....

Apple this year made Xcode Cloud available to all developers after more than a year in private beta. Now, after already having expanded access to the platform, Apple is letting developers sign on for more compute hours on Xcode Cloud if they need it. For those unfamiliar, Xcode Cloud is a platform that lets developers accelerate the development process by running automated tests and other tasks in the cloud. The platform was first announced at WWDC 2021, and during its first year, only invited developers could subscribe to Xcode Cloud....

Comedian Bobcat Goldthwait asked Disney to remove his voice from an attraction at Disney Parks in response to the company firing director James Gunn from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Goldthwait referenced his past with shocking and offensive jokes to make a point about the company’s firing of Gunn. It was only last week that Disney fired Gunn after offensive tweets that Gunn made nearly 10 years ago resurfaced. Gunn deleted his Twitter when the tweets were resurfaced, effectively deleting them as well, but screenshots have been widely shared on the social media platform....

The wait is almost over. In just a few days, moviegoers across the globe will finally get to see the hotly-anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, and early reactions out of the world premiere indicate that the old franchise magic is back. It would appear that Episode VII has delivered on the copious amounts of hype to bring the saga back in a big way. If that’s the case, Star Wars fever is only going to get more intense in the coming weeks....

Benedict Cumberbatch is thrilled over the story Avengers 4 is going to tell. Marvel Studios shook up the Marvel Cinematic Universe just a few months ago with the release of Avengers: Infinity War. Thanos won and wiped out half of the universe, but there’s still a reason to be hopeful going into next year’s followup. The events that have transpired are part of the 1 scenario out of 4,000,605 that resulted in the Avengers being victorious....

The adventure film easily won its opening weekend, making an impressive $82 million domestically over the five-day frame....

With a never-ending list of guest and recurring stars, Brooklyn Nine-Nine has involved some of the finest actors around in its plot by way of recurring appearances and amusing cameos. Whether they were cast due to their dramatic or comedic talents, each one of these stars contributed some additional flavor to a show that is already rich with content and star power. In addition to being some of Hollywood’s finest, a number of these stars have also appeared in other cop shows, which makes it understandable as to why their performances on Brooklyn Nine-Nine were so convincing....

With blockbuster budgets continuing to soar, it is becoming more important that tentpole films star actors and actresses who consistently draw fans to the theater. Flops at the box office are becoming all too common and studios can no longer throw $100 million or more behind a film that does not include at least one major bankable star. Take 2016’s Gods of Egypt. The Gerard Butler-starring film grossed $150 million worldwide on an estimated budget of $140 million, ouch....
