Black Panther has now surpassed The Avengers to become the highest-grossing superhero movie all-time in the U.S. Ryan Coogler’s latest put together an incredible commercial run since opening in mid-February, rewriting the record books thanks to its stellar word-of-mouth. Due to the response and weak competition over the past month, Black Panther steadily rose up the charts, quickly working its way into the top 10 domestically. Most expected the film to do well at the box office (most Marvel movies do), but few predicted this kind of performance....

The synopsis for Daniel Day Lewis’s upcoming Phantom Thread has been released, with the promise of a trailer for the film on the way soon. Daredevil swag depicting the symbol of Bullseye seemingly confirms reports the Marvel villain will appear in season 3 of the Netflix series. Daredevil kicked off Netflix’s corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when season 1 debuted in 2015, earning positive reactions from critics and fans alike. The series follows Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) as he battles those who threaten his home of Hell’s Kitchen in New York City. The first season saw the Man Without Fear go toe-to-toe with Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), while season 2 pitted him against the Punisher (Jon Bernthal) as well as the Hand - the latter of which were eventually defeated in The Defenders....

WB is looking for the best way to move the DC Films universe forward post-Justice League, and they’re doing so under new leadership from Walter Hamada. They’ve got a few projects lined up right already, but the future beyond Wonder Woman 2 isn’t set in stone yet. One of the properties that was thought to be a big priority was a solo movie for Barbara Gordon....

It should come as no surprise to anybody, but Deadpool 2 is now out in theaters and smashing records like its predecessor. Although it might not be as big as the other Marvel film that came out last month, the movie starring the Merc with a Mouth has unseated Infinity War from the #1 spot at the box office! It’s hard to believe that the original Deadpool was almost never released; the executives over at FOX refused to green light the action comedy despite the pleas from Ryan Reynolds and Tim Miller....

The Deadwood movie is and will start filming this fall, according to Kim Dickens (who plays Joanie Stubbs). HBO’s western drama, Deadwood, has one of the more infamous unintended series finales of all time. Deadwood ended not quite on a cliffhanger, but its season 3 finale was not meant to be the end. HBO axed the series before it had a chance to properly wrap things up and fans have cried out for more ever since 2006....

There are less than two months left until Doctor Strange hits theaters and introduces moviegoers to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Sorcerer Supreme. The movie will also introduce magic into the MCU for the first time and expand that universe into a multiverse, opening up whole new realms of possibility for storytelling. Marvel’s marketing team seems to be putting a great deal of effort into setting audience expectations for the movie ahead of time, offering a prelude comic to explain some of its magic elements and releasing several promotional featurettes to lay out key plot and character details and prepare audiences for the “mind trip action film” that they are promising Doctor Strange will be....

The Daily Bugle is an important part of the Spider-Man mythos, but so far it’s been entirely absent from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That may have just changed, though, as an entertaining Disneyland Easter egg suggests the Bugle is indeed active in the MCU - and the quality of its reporting is hardly inspirational. This week, game publisher Blizzard confirmed that it is working on a new Warcraft game for mobile devices. The confirmation was made during the fiscal Q4 2021 report from Activision Blizzard, which is in the process of being acquired by Microsoft. The much-rumored Boba Fett spinoff movie probably won’t begin production until 2020. It seems for the entirety of their Disney era, Lucasfilm has been trying to get a project centering on the fan-favorite Star Wars bounty hunter off the ground. In fact, this particular film was so far along in development at one point, they were going to unveil a Boba Fett sizzle reel at Celebration 2015. However, shortly before the event, the studio pulled the plug on it and parted ways with one-time director Josh Trank....
