Fargo/Legion creator Noah Hawley has just revealed he’s working on a Doctor Doom movie at Fox. Hawley’s been a rising talent in the TV world with his remake of the Coen brothers’ classic and X-Men comic both earning rave reviews and being praised as some of the best Peak TV has to offer, but his movie involvement has been minimal, with just a few spec scripts and vague involvement with Universal’s Dark Universe....

Fans of the original dystopian sci-fi film Blade Runner have been waiting since its 1982 release year for news of a sequel. While the rumors swirled for decades, Blade Runner 2 finally has a promised release date in January of 2018. Though original director Ridley Scott has relinquished that role in the sequel to Denis Villeneuve (Sicario), Scott created the new story with Hampton Fancher (also co-writer of the original)....

Disney CEO Bob Iger publicly stated he’d be willing to see Kevin Hart return to host the Oscars if the comedian showed some “contrition” for past remarks deemed homophobic by many, which is odd considering his unwillingness to budge on the decision to terminate Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn for similar reasons. Google is continuing its work to speed up Chrome with version 99 released last week. The company touts a handful of speed improvements, including with the Speedometer benchmark, on both Chrome for Mac and Android. Update 6/6: After announcing a Speedometer score of 300 in March with Chrome 99 for Mac, Google says version 104.0.5102.0 (arm64) — currently in Canary — is now 20% faster at 360. This was tested on a M1 Max MacBook Pro running macOS 12....

Star Wars: The Clone Wars composer Kevin Kiner reveals that he has written more music for the space opera than anyone, including John Williams. In light of the animated prequel series coming back for its seventh and final season via Disney+, Kiner made the press rounds talking about his work for the popular franchise. Since The Clone Wars revival was announced in 2018, fans had been eagerly waiting for its release, especially considering where the series was left off in 2014 after it was unceremoniously cancelled in the aftermath of Disney’s Lucasfilm acquisition....

As social media platforms try to find new ways to engage with creators, Discord announced a new premium membership subscription while Facebook is testing a professional mode for Profiles. According to a blog post, Discord says that having a premium membership is one of the most requested features from creators, and the company has seen many people from its community offering this experience through third-party applications. Lakeith Stanfield is reportedly playing the main character in the forthcoming reboot of Candyman. Author Clive Barker conceived of the ghostly killer in his short story The Forbidden, which was included in volume five of the Books Of Blood. The original story was set in a UK housing estate, and found a student researching graffiti being drawn to the urban legend of a hook-handed killer called the Candyman, and meeting a nasty fate....
